【摘要】:Thepurposeofthispracticeistoprovideguidingprinciplesfortheuseofevaluationcottonsandevaluationsamplesforthequalificationofcottonclassificationinstruments.Thecottonclassificationinstrumentsqualifiedunderthispracticeshallbecapableoftestingthefiberpropertiesofmicronairereading,upperhalfmeanlength,uniformityindex,breakingtenacity(strength),Rd(color),+b(color),percentarea(trash)andparticlecount(trash).Thispracticeprovidesguidelinesforusersofcottonclassificationinstrumentstoperformstandardizedtestingthatwillensurethattestresultsarewithinacceptabletolerances(seetablesbelow)forthemarketingofcottonbales.Atestoftheupperhalfmeanlength,uniformityindexandbreakingtenacity(strength)shallconsistofanaverageoftwo(2)specimensthatarepreparedbyanautomaticmechanicalsampler.Atestofthecolorandtrashshallconsistofanaverageoffour(4)measurementswitha90degreerotationofthecolorevaluationfibersamplesbetweenmeasurementsoneachsample.Themicronairetestshallconsistofasinglemeasurement.1.1Thispracticeprovidestwooptionsforthequalificationofcottonclassificationinstruments:option1,newlyinstalledcottonclassificationinstrumentation,oroption2,annualverificationofcottonclassificationinstrumentationusingevaluationcottons,trashevaluationimages,andcolorevaluationfibersamplesforthefibermeasurementsofmicronairereading,upperhalfmeanlength,uniformityindex,breakingtenacity(strength),Rd(colorreflectance),+b(coloryellowness),percentarea(trash),andparticlecount(trash).1.2Thispracticecoversthetechnicalrequirementstovalidatetheconsistencyofdatareportedbyacottonclassificationinstrument.1.2.1Thepracticecanbeusedwhennewequipmentisinstalledoritcanbeusedtoperformannualverificationforconsistencyofreporteddata.1.2.2Thepracticecanbeusedtoqualifycottonclassificationinstrumentsusingevaluationcottons,trashevaluationimages,andcolorevaluationfibersamples.Thesedatacanbeusedforfibermeasurementsofmicronairereading,upperhalfmeanlength,uniformityindex,strength,colorreflectance,andtrash.1.3ThevaluesstatedinEnglishunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
