【摘要】:Thisguideacknowledgestheimportanceofawell-designeddisasterrecoveryplanthatwillprotecthealthinformationandbusinessinformationfromdamage,minimizedisruption,ensureintegrityofdata,andprovidefororderlyrecovery.Thisguidesuggestsmethodstoprotecttheconfidentialityandsecurityofhealthcaredocumentationduringadisaster.Itisintendedthatthisguidewillcontributetocompliancewithlawsandregulationstoimproveprotectionofhealthinformationdocumentationanddataintegritywiththedevelopmentofthecontingencyplanrequirement.Thisguidewillexplainkeypointstoincludeinpreparingadisasterrecoveryplantoresumeoperationsandminimizelossesduetounscheduledinterruptionofcriticalservicesifadisasterwouldoccur.Thisguideisintendedtoassistinthedevelopmentofappropriatepoliciesandproceduresthatprovideprotectionforindividuallyidentifiablehealthinformationinasecureenvironmentintheeventofadisaster.1.1Thisguideappliesacrossmultiplemedicaltranscriptionsettingsinwhichhealthcaredocumentsaregeneratedandstored:medicaltranscriptiondepartments,homeoffices,andmedicaltranscriptionserviceorganizations(MTSOs).Currentlythereisnostandarddisasterrecoveryplaninthemedicaltranscriptionindustrytoprovideguidelinesforindividuals,departments,andbusinessestousefordesigningadisasterrecoveryplanfortheirmedicaltranscriptionenvironment.1.2Adisasteriswhenasuddeneventbringsgreatdamage,loss,destruction,orinterruptionofcriticalservices.Theseguidelinescouldassistindevelopinganorganizedresponsetoreducethetimeforlossofservices,maintaincontinuityofworkflow,andspeedtheoverallbusinessrecoveryprocess.1.3ThisguidesupportstheHIPAASecurityRuleforensuringdataintegritywithacontingencyplantoincludeadatabackupplan,adisasterrecoveryplan,andanemergencymodeoperationalplan.1.4ThisguideisconsistentwiththerequirementfordisasterplanningandrecoveryproceduresasstatedinGuideE1959.1.5ThisguideisnotintendedasadisasterrecoveryplanforHealthInformationManagementDepartmentsorforanentirehealthcarefacility.
