【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodcoversproceduresfordeterminingthemagnitudeandrateofconsolidationofsoilwhenitisrestrainedlaterallyanddrainedaxiallywhilesubjectedtoincrementallyappliedcontrolled-stressloading.Twoalternativeproceduresareprovidedasfollows:1.1.1TestMethodA8212;Thistestmethodisperformedwithconstantloadincrementdurationof24h,ormultiplesthereof.Time-deformationreadingsarerequiredonaminimumoftwoloadincrements.1.1.2TestMethodB8212;Time-deformationreadingsarerequiredonallloadincrements.Successiveloadincrementsareappliedafter100%primaryconsolidationisreached,oratconstanttimeincrementsasdescribedinTestMethodA.Note18212;Thedeterminationoftherateandmagnitudeofconsolidationofsoilwhenitissubjectedtocontrolled-strainloadingiscoveredbyTestMethodD4186.1.2Thistestmethodismostcommonlyperformedonundisturbedsamplesoffinegrainedsoilsnaturallysedimentedinwater,however,thebasictestprocedureisapplicable,aswell,tospecimensofcompactedsoilsandundisturbedsamplesofsoilsformedbyotherprocessessuchasweatheringorchemicalalteration.Evaluationtechniquesspecifiedinthistestmethodaregenerallyapplicabletosoilsnaturallysedimentedinwater.Testsperformedonothersoilssuchascompactedandresidual(weatheredorchemicallyaltered)soilsmayrequirespecialevaluationtechniques.1.3Itshallbetheresponsibilityoftheagencyrequestingthistesttospecifythemagnitudeandsequenceofeachloadincrement,includingthelocationofareboundcycle,ifrequired,and,forTestMethodA,theloadincrementsforwhichtime-deformationreadingsaredesired.Note28212;Time-deformationreadingsarerequiredtodeterminethetimeforcompletionofprimaryconsolidationandforevaluatingthecoefficientofconsolidation.Sincecvarieswithstresslevelandloadincrement(loadingorunloading),theloadincrementswithtimedreadingsmustbeselectedwithspecificreferencetotheindividualproject.Alternatively,therequestingagencymayspecifyTestMethodBwhereinthetime-deformationreadingsaretakenonallloadincrements.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsareapproximateandgivenforguidanceonly.ReportingoftestresultsinunitsotherthanSIshallnotberegardedasnonconformancewiththistestmethod.1.4.1Intheengineeringprofessionitiscustomarypracticetouse,interchangeably,unitsrepresentingbothmassandforce,unlessdynamiccalculation(F=Ma)areinvolved.Thisimplicitlycombinestwoseparatesystemsofunits,thatis,theabsolutesystemandthegravimetricsystem.Itisscientificallyundesirabletocombinetwoseparatesystemswithinasinglestandard.ThistestmethodhasbeenwrittenusingSIunits;however,inch-poundconversionsaregiveninthegravimetricsystem,wherethepound(lbf)representsaunitofforce(weight).Theuseofbalancesorscalesrecordingpoundsofmass(lbm),ortherecordingofdensityinlb/ftshouldnotberegardedasnonconformancewiththistestmethod.1.5AllobservedandcalculatedvaluesshallconformtotheguidelinesforsignificantdigitsandroundingestablishedinPracticeD6026.1.5.1Themethodusedtospecifyhowdataarecollected,calculated,orrecordedinthisstandardisnotdirectlyrelatedtotheaccuracytowhichthedatacanbeappliedindesignorotheruses,orboth.Howoneappliestheresultsobtainedusingthisstandardisbeyonditsscope.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,itany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityof......
